NOTE: the above issue of the survey is significant because it is was done with the old street numbers and annotated with the new street numbers. It is partially imaged here up to page 12. See notes for some detail.

Description for all.
Seventeen documents; printed columnar forms with holographic entries, circa 9" wide x 14" high; hand title paper cover with with ribbon binding through two holes at top edge. Some have typed transmittal letter on early leaves. Entries are on both sides of most leaves; hand numbered pagination varies. Soiled, musty.

Some of the typed reports in the front has requests for meters, problems with plumbing contractors and requests for permits, etc.

Columns titled:
Block | Street No. | Stories | Feet Front. | Front Building. | Rear Building | Extras | Total Tax.

Note that a great many businesses, institutions and churches, plus some real estate owners are named. Resident's not usually named. Note is made of fountains, horse troughs, etc. Especially useful are entries in the "Extras" column which notes the number of families at a street number, water closets (W.C.) or bath hose, stables and number of stalls.

Two page typed letter to Henry Lohman, Jr., Water Registrar (City of Hoboken) on letterhead of Hackensack Water Co., Reorganized, 1 Newark St., Hoboken from Charles B. Brush, Chief Engineer and Superintendent. Survey was conducted under joint direction of Brush and Lohman with the participation of Inspector Havens of the Water Board and two inspectors from the Water Company. It is followed by a two page index by street name with charges and the page in the survey. The index is followed by the 151 pages of the survey detail.
