In a reply to a letter of the 25th from Campbell, the write sending his regrets he cannot attend a Committee on War [World War One] Work meeting due the the "enormous amount of our people being sick at the present time in nearly every department. We have over three hundred employees sick at the present time."
The illness referred to was probably the Great Influenza Epidemic of 1918.
