Scope & Content Raffle ticket book: C.D. Association. Hoboken Elks Lodge 74. (Golden) Silver Anniversary Bazaar. February 11-18, 1939. Drawing for a 1939 Nash 4 door sedan.

An item that appears to be an unused ticket book re-purposed from use by the Elks Lodge for a "C.D. Ass'n" (unknown group - possibly County Democratic Association?) It is more probable that it is a marked-up sample for a printer to use in producing new ones for them. Changes in text that would be expected on such a mark-up such as dates are not evident here.

Each ticket was originally for entry to the bazaar and into a drawing for a 1939 Nash 4 door sedan. Tickets were priced at ten cents each.

See page images; transcribed text in notes.

While the "Hoboken Elks" name is crossed out on cover, the tickets themselves are not so marked and carry the name: Hoboken Lodge No. 74, B.P.O. Elks, 1007 Washington St. (note that modern street address presently in use is 1005 Washington St.) The Bazaar itself was an eight day event, Saturday to Saturday, with the drawing for the car on the last Saturday.

Booklet, 2-1/2" high x 5-1/2" wide, single staple; printed heavyweight covers with thirty two-piece admission tickets. Unused. Book No. 824; tickets Nos. 24691-25720. Ink notes on back of last ticket.
