Tickets, nine: Restricted Monthly Commutation Ticket for Delaware Lackawanna & Western Railroad between Montclair and New York, various months of 1953.
January; April-June; August-December.
Printed card stock, 2-1/2" x 4-1/16" wide. Form RMC. Each has a dated validation stamp on back (most bearing Barclay St. N.Y.C.) Extensive use as indicated by numerous conductors' punches. Two of the nine have the previous bearer's name, address and telephone number inscribed in ink.
Hoboken was the rail terminus for the Lackawanna so all trips to or from New York began or ended here. Using Hoboken required travel on the Lackawanna ferries as noted on reverse. The monthly ticket included ferry passage.
