Roundtrip excursion ticket: Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad, Morris & Essex Div., for travel between New York and Broad Street, Newark, November 26, 1897.
Three part ticket, 1-3/8" high x 5-1/16" wide. Serial number 2120. Unused; rail tickets punched; validation date stamp on reverse of rail tickets.
This reduced fare ticket included service starting in New York with the Hoboken Ferry ticket at the right which was good only from New York to Hoboken where the passenger would start their train ride at Lackawanna Terminal using the center portion as the rail ticket. The right part of the ticket was for the return trip from Broad Street to New York, which again, would have made it necessary to use the ferry from Hoboken to New York. This ticket section does not state that it was good for the ferry, but typically it would have been recognized for passage.
