Hoboken Fire Department Certificate no. 192 certifying that James Miller is a member of the Hoboken Fire Department, Hoboken, Dec. 20, 1856 and signed by Samuel W. Carey, City Clerk and C.V. Clickener, Mayor. Printed sheet ca. 8-1/4" long x 5-1/8" high, irregularly trimmed.
The reverse has the holographic ink notation at the top left edge: James Miller | Paid. There are also several numbers in pencil below. Just right of center is an ink signature: J.W. Van Baekerck, Chief Engineer.
