Scope & Content Photograph album with twenty-six mounted sepia-tone albumen photographs of R. Neumann and Co. including building exteriors and interiors (Hoboken, New York & Newark) plus officers, employees and other workers, no date, ca. 1885-1890.

Each photograph is shown twice in this record:
a cropped, enhanced image of each page is followed by a view of the entire leaf with limited adjustments. No text or other captions identifying the contents was present in the album. Photographer not indicated. PDF on file.

Factory, founded in 1863, for processing and manufacturing of leather goods. Primary locations:
Hoboken - northwest corner of Willow Avenue and Ferry Street (now Observer Highway) covering about two blocks.
Newark - 9 to 17 St. Francis Street.
New York City - 76 Duane Street, warehouse / salesroom.

The twenty-fifth anniversary of the company would have been 1888 and the elaborate album would have been an appropriate commemorative for the event.
