Block of three white coated canvas printed in black one side only, single tag 3-1/8" high x 6-1/4" wide, grommet for string tie; ink stamped with local board name and address. Digital images only. P.M.G.O. [Provost Marshall General Office] Form 4001. Local Board No. 1 was the "draft board" as well as performing related functions.
Presumably used when sending records to Washington or Trenton. (This is NOT the tag form number referred to in archives 2008.048.0003 which identifies a different form number (4005) for a tag used to ship the final records to D.C. when closing the local offices.)
