Ticket: Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad monthly commutation ticket, 23 Highland Ave. to New York, belonging to Mr. C.D. Furman, April 1932. Printed card stock, two sides, 2-5/16" x 4-1/16" wide; numerous conductor's punches.
Good "To Sixty Rides on Continuous Trains between..." The "23 Highland Ave. [Highland Ave. is inkstamped on ticket]" station was probably in Orange, New Jersey.
Ticket was bought at the West 23rd Street ferry terminal in New York which was one of the Lackawanna Ferry destinations (see inkstamp on reverse.] Tickets to or from New York required taking the railroad's ferry to or from Hoboken where the Lackawanna Terminal was located. The ferry fare was included in price of fares to or from New York.
