Sample ticket: Erie-Lackawanna Railroad Company, Restricted Monthly Commutation Ticket; Good for unlimited number of rides between Short Hills and Hoboken. Form RC. Unissued. No date, circa late 1960-1968 (probably file sample circa mid-1960s.) Printed blue card stock, deep red border, 2-7/16" high x 4" wide.
Unused; one conductor's punch in area that does not indicate use.
While not stamped as a sample, it is consistent with other ticket samples so marked in the collection, unused and with a punch or punches not in areas indicated for such use. The red border was apparently used on Restricted Commutation tickets; see archives 2011.005.0046 for five different examples of unrestricted tickets, Form MC, from the same period.
Use of the name Erie-Lackawanna Railroad Co. was only from October 1960 to circa April 1968 when it was re-named the Erie Lackawanna Railway Co.
