Ticket sample: Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad monthly commutation ticket between [blank space - station to be entered] and New York, for December 1941. Form MC. Yellow card stock, printed in black and red, two sides, 2-1/2" x 7-1/4" wide; four conductor's punches; inkstamped on reverse as noted below.
A three piece ticket with the center being the monthly ticket; left is the agent's stub; right is ticket to be detached for first ride (a conductor's receipt.) The monthly portion has double vertical bars in red at center.
Inkstamped on front and back with two different stamps. Inkstamp on front: Sample Rand McNally & Co. Inkstamp on back: Sample Nov 11 1941 Rand McNally & Co.
Tickets to or from New York required taking the railroad's ferry to or from Hoboken where the Lackawanna Terminal was located. The ferry fare was included in price of fares to or from New York. This is covered in the terms and conditions on the back.
