Mixed drink guide chart from Acme Wine and Liquors, Inc., 1200 Washington St., Hoboken, N.J., no date, copyright 1934. Probably issued between 1934 and 1950.
Printed white celluloid plastic, 6" long x 1-3/4" high x ca. 1/16" thick. with die-cut windows and finger tabs with printed cardstock slide. Printed both sides and is inverted in use.
Imprinted with the store name, phone number and "Jacob Schwartz, President." Top edge has the imprint of the manufacturer, Cruver Manufacturing Co., Chicago, and "copyright 1934."
Lists 100 liquor drinks alphabetically with a reference number for slide use. The slide indicates through the window: liquor to use; amount /proportions; added items such as lemon, water, etc; how to prepare - strain, stir, etc.
The end of Prohibition in 1933 would have made this a typical item of the era, issued by a retailer to promote their offerings.
