Printed form: Order for Watch Inspection; Watch Certificate. Erie Lackawanna Railway Co., issued Nov. 21, 1975. Printed pink cardstock, 2 part form with center perforation; 4-1/16" wide x 5" high. Serial number: 7169.
Typewritten entries: Richard Brantner; Trainman; New York [Division]; C.E. Wogan [Superintendent], Nov. 21, 75.
The two part form had part (or coupon) A at top: Order for Watch Inspection. Bottom was part B: Watch Certificate. Part A was also imprinted on the reverse for the watch inspector to complete and return by mail.
Hoboken was the eastern rail terminus for the Railway and part of the New York Division. It is unknown if the employee was based in Hoboken. A trainman was train crew that included conductors and at this time, Hoboken was the center of passenger train service for this railroad.
While typewritten entries were made, others lines to be entered that would have made this inspection and certification complete were apparently not made.
