|Scope & Content||
Sample ticket: Lackawanna Railroad 30-Day Excursion Round Trip Coach Ticket between Hoboken and destination to be entered. Form H 30-D Exc. Inkstamped on reverse, May 3, 1967. Printed paper (bond weight), one side, 2-5/8" wide x 5-5/8" high. Ink-stamped on reverse as noted below. One punched hole (conductor's punch) on each ticket section plus one round centered hole in top section. Five each.
Ticket in 3 sections with perforation lines for separating.
Top panel: Agent's Stub
Middle panel: Return Coupon "Hoboken to ___________"
Bottom panel: Going Coupon "__________ to Hoboken"
Since "Going Coupon" is at bottom and is "...to Hoboken" this ticket was only for a trip starting outside Hoboken and thus presumably sold at stations outside Hoboken.
Ink stamped on back: Sample, May 2, 1967, Rand McNally & Co.
The name 'Lackawanna Railroad' rather than 'Erie-Lackawanna' suggests that this ticket is an older file sample, pre-dating the merger of the Erie Railroad and Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad in 1960.
