Full-page color comic strip style ad published in unknown publication, unknown issue number and date, ca. 1949-1950 (determined from movies referred to on reverse) page unknown; single leaf removed from publication, trimmed, 6-1/4" x 8-7/8".
The multi-panel strip promoted Tootsie Rolls which were made in Hoboken and the wrapped product plus Tootsie Pops are depicted in the ad. Artwork credited to Bill Schreiber.
The film "Johnny Holiday" starring William Bendix (who is mentioned in comic) was released in the U.S. on Nov. 18, 1949. (Bendix also appeared in another Captain Tootsie comic about the motion picture, "The Babe Ruth Story", in which he starred.)
