Full page color ad published in unstated magazine, no issue or volume number available. Leaf as removed from publication, 6-3/8" wide x 9-3/8" high.

Ad for Unique Thin-Lead Colored Pencils; $1.00 per dozen, Assortment No. 1116, box of 12; or $2.00, Assortment No. 1117, box of 24; also sold separately in the choice of the 24 colors at 10 cents each.

While the product was made in Hoboken, the box depicted in the ad, Assortment No. 1116, carried the address as London and New York. American Pencil Co. was the American Lead Pencil Company.

It could be speculated that the 'worried ... shoppers' in the title was a marketing reference to economic climate in late 1929. The stock market crash of Oct. 29, 1929 and the subsequent economic uncertainty that became a worry for customers in the the holiday shopping season could have been part of this campaign or it may have been just a general reference to the presumed harried nature of holdiay shopping. A definitive determination of when the ad was published would help.
