|Scope & Content||
Holiday Excursions to Niagara Falls. Lackawanna Railroad, no date, either 1938 or 1949. Printed folio, 4" x 9" high, pp., photo illustrated.
While dates included may be from 1949, the brochure makes no mention of the long distance train Phoebe Snow which was introduced in 1949, so it is more likely to be from 1939. Page mentions other trips "Lackawanna Wonder Tours" which were part of the railroad's promotions from the 1930s. This promotion was for the summer and included three major holiday excursions plus motor sightseeing tours. Other travel from New York included suburban towns plus the Delaware Water Gap, Bertrand Island Amusement Park, Lake Hoptacong.
While trips are stated as to or from New York, it required a ferry trip to and from Hoboken where the passenger actually started or ended their rail travel. Page mentions Hoboken.
