|Scope & Content||
Scrapbook album of Hoboken Girl Scouts, 56 un-numbered leaves with materials from the late 1910's to the late 1960's. No cover as received and order of leaves probably not original. Leaf size was ca. 12" wide x 14" high. Complete album imaged as found and arbitrarily numbered; imaged as full pages in this record front and back. PDF on file. This is one of three albums, each varying in format and contents. The other albums are 2001.036.3001 and .4001.
All but three leaves have materials mounted on both sides. The contents of nearly 700 items includes 265 original photographs, 363 clippings from newspapers or magazines including 76 with printed photos, plus 64 documents or publications (some multi-page) and memorabilia. The leaves will be catalogued separately with detail information and images starting with archives 2001.036.2001.01 and ending with .2001.56. All multi-page attachments or publications plus fold-outs will be seen in full.
Information about who assembled and captioned the materials is not indicated. The brittle condition of the mounting leaves and newsclippings has led to the loss of some captioning or printed text. A few original photographs that have detached from some leaves were mounted with paste and have typewritten general information about the image including reference to a negative number (no negatives are present in this archive.) At some future time, the de-mounting of the photos will be necessary due to the continuing deterioration of the album paper. Information on the reverse will be documented.
Images as TIFFs, JPEGs and as PDF.
