Cut-paper artwork, Kitchen View, by Hiro Takeshita, Hoboken, 2005. Colored art paper, cut and mounted on matte board; work 9-1/4" x 14" wide on 15-5/8" x 19-5/8" board. Work depicts a night-time view east from a kitchen window of his Hoboken apartment (201 Madison St.) at Christmas time; a small decorated holiday tree is seen and the vista through the window is of the backs of several buildings with the Empire State Building in the distance. Work was displayed in an Upper Gallery exhibition at the Hoboken Historical Museum: Slices of Beauty on the Hudson Cut-Paper Works by Hiro Takeshita December 15, 2013 to January 19, 2014 No. 5 in exhibit checklist.

Art: View from the Museum. Cut-paper artwork by Hiro Takeshita, Hoboken, 2009. Layered colored papers (Arches?); technique: kirgami, or kiri-e; 9" wide x 11-1/4" high. Not signed. Framed, blonde natural wood 13-1/4" x 16", archival matte. Depicts a night time view looking east from the 13th Street walkway (which is where the entrance to the Museum is located out-of-view to the left) towards New York City. Seen to the left are lit marquee cases and wall sconces. Seen through the archway is Constitution Court with Shipyard Park at the right and 2 Constitution Court to the left.
