Whittemore, C[ivil].E[ngineer]. to Mayor and Common Council, City of Hoboken, March 14, 1906 re request of North German Lloyd Steamship Co. to erect a iron post & iron sign board at the entrance to pier 3. Page 1 only of an apparent multi-page document. Printed letterhead, 8" x 10-1/2" high. Describes with some detail this addition to an identical post and sign originally erected in June of 1898. Whittemore's letterhead records: Successor to Chas. [Charles] B. Brush & Co., Civil Engineers, No. 1 Newark Street. Specialties: Water Works and Sanitary Engineering, Surveys, Borings, Bridges, Railroad, City and Harbor Improvements, Fire Insurance Maps.

Printed paper (red and blue) with blue blotting paper back, 3-3/4" x 6-3/4" wide. A typical advertising item issued by banks and other businesses. This blotter was formerly the property of donor Charles Bogert, then a resident of Hoboken.

At the right edge is the Hoboken Land Improvement Company, 1 Newark St. In the distance at the left is the parking garage and Two Marine View Tower. Out-of-view at the right is the Clam Broth House.
