This item was from the family papers of the sisters. Both attended and were graduates of Academy of the Sacred Heart, school at 713 Washington St., Hoboken. Florence graduated in 1909 and Madeline in 1911. And since this item was accompanied in this accession by the 1911 graduation program for Madeline, it could probably be attributed to her ownership. Whether this sampler was made by either of them or was a gift made by another person is unknown. Since both women were religious throughout their lives, it is also

There are many photos, most with identifications, including the co-educational classes from first to eighth grades which are not identified as to the school or location.
