Engraved calling card of Mrs. H.Otto Wittpenn, Castle Point, Hoboken, New Jersey with holographic ink note at the top, Hoboken, no date, ca. 1925. Black edging indicates that it may have been a period of mourning for Mrs.Wittpenn. 3-15/16" wide x 3-1/16" high. Reverse is blank. She was Caroline Bayard Stevens, the eldest daughter of Edwin Augustus Stevens (E.A. Stevens) and Martha Bayard Stevens. Presumably the note was intended for either or both of the Miller sisters. It reads: Will you come here after the Forum Lecture on March first to meet Baroness von Hindenburg? The Forum was probably Waldheim-Stevens Forum on Garden St.

Braun, Class of '45, whose ink stamped name is on front cover. Imaged are front endleaf map, contents, pages 13-14 which relate the World War Two programs including the War Industries Training School, Stevens Accelerated-Service Plan and the Navy College Training Program which was a Naval Reserves (517) engineering unit, V-12 unit of 513. The work is essentially a "college catalog" and includes detailed information about the institution, its faculty and faculty "Contibutions to Science" (publications), programs, collections, courses, tuition rates, Stevens High School and list of students for all four years, alumni.

This copy belonged to Barlow Day Drayton, member of the Junior Class, Class of 1920, with his name on front free endpaper. This issue is notable as it records the involvement of Stevens' students in World War I activities on campus as well as the institution's establishment of the U.S. Navy Steam Engineering School. The graduating class and other classes were signficantly diminished in numbers due to members leaving school to fight in the war. Limp red leather (split calf) cover, 4-1/2" x 6" high; blind-stamped cover with Stevens seal within silver gilt circle; other lettering including year. Three hole stab binding with gray leather strap. Nine printed leaves, one side only, unpaginated, with patterned glassine guard leaves front and back. June 9th activities were Class Day Exercises and Baccalaureate Service. Commencement was on Saturday, June 10th, in William Hall, Walker Gymnasium.
