Four punched holes for original ribbon-tied binding; blue-green fragments are all that remain. Text in german, not translated. PDF on file. A history of this German-language school from its founding, including many names of Hoboken residents, organizations, and school staff. The school was on Fifth Street at the northeast corner of Willow Avenue and Fifth St. Known as the Hoboken Academy, it inaugurated the building shown on the cover on February 10, 1861. Holographic ink letter of February 4, 1861 to the Common Council of Hoboken from two officers of the Academic Society requesting, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, the honor of their presence at the Inauguration of the Hoboken Academy building, corner of Fifth & Willow Sts., on Sunday, February 10th [1861] at half past two o'clock. Single sheet 17" wide x 11" high, blue-wove Paris stationery, folded to 8-1/2" x 11". Letter is on page [1]; page [4]: Presented and accepted on February 7, 1861 and filed by the City Clerk. Note official seal of the Academy at the top left.

Original document consisted of 16 numbered typewritten carbon copy leaves, 8" x 11-5/8" high, of which only pages 3 to 16 were available and imaged. Not stated who made the diagram; presumably done by Runton or son. It is probable that this item was part of a larger group of related documents which are no longer together. A diagram of property at 511 Park Avenue made from measurements taken by a Mr. Dunn. The property owner was Mr. Robinson.
