Reverse of print is blank. Printed caption at bottom notes the Empire Theatre at the left with the Fire Department Headquarters beyond it on the same side: the shorter building with flag pole. It also noted that the original postcard used for this image was postmarked 1914. Source of print, where printed and when is not given.

Next to it with the peaked roof was the Hoboken Bank for Savings, with City Hall in the center of the next block. At right, stood homes which were later torn down and the Fabian Theater built, which in turn was torn down in the last decade and the Shop Rite supermarket building erected. Original brochure: closed, 8-3/4" (appears hand trimmed on bottom edge from 9") x 12" wide; fully open 28" wide. This hotel and office building was be constructed ("Occupancy scheduled for early1976") on north side of First Street between River and Hudson Streets. This building was never built. The office building, 5 Marineview Plaza, is on this site.
