Black-and-white negative: aerial view of Stevens Institute of Technology campus and waterfront, Hoboken, no date, ca. 1969-1975. 4" x 5" negative image of a print shot on copy board; note the image was mirrored as photographed and reversed as found imaged here; reference prints from negative on file. Photographer not known for the original image or copy. See provenance.
View is west - northwest from about Sixth Street to Tenth Streets. Determining the date of the image: the Williams Library on the Steven campus appears fully built and it opened in 1969; at the lower left is the S.S. Stevens (formerly the S.S. Exochorda), a floating dormitory used by the school from 1968-1975.
On the waterfront at the lower right are buildings and piers used by the Penn Central Railroad (and before the merger, by the Pennsylvania Railroad)
See photo 2006.042.0201 for another aerial view from the same period for the area to the north of that seen here.
