Black-and-white photo of the river end of Pier No. 2, North German Lloyd Line, Hoboken, 1914. 2-11/16" high x 4-5/16" wide. Holographic ink caption on the reverse: The dock with all our friends | 18 in number, to the right. Remains of brown paper hinges from previous album mounting.
The photo appears to have been taken on board a departing vessel, probably the S.S. Saint Paul of the North German Lloyd Line. From the caption information, it appears the friends on the pier were there to see them off. None of the individuals are identified.
This image is the top left photo of five photos from an album leaf, archives catalog 2002.230.0001.
