Description Black-and-white photographic negative of westside railroad tracks and development between Third and Fourth Streets; taken from Jersey City Heights, Hoboken, no date, circa 1911-1918.

Once part of Ted Conrad Collection and may have been published by the Hudson City Historical Society.

View is east with railroad tracks at the bottom with Marshall Street the first street beyond them. Note that the block bounded by 3rd & 4th Streets and Marshall to Harrison has been drained and filled.

The Keuffel & Esser Co. west plant building (opened 1907) is prominently in view. Several other businesses with signage are seen including:

Early date is suggested by Hoboken High School seen at left side in detail 5. Our Lady of Grace Church at Fourth St. and Willow Ave. is seen and beyond it to its right is the west facade (Garden St.) of Hoboken High School on Fourth St. between Garden and Bloomfield Streets. The school cornerstone laid in 1910 and building dedicated October 1911.
