The woman is not identified. As the subject is believed to be associated with the Sanntrock family of Hoboken, the location for this photo is attributed to the Hoboken studio. (cf. New Jersey Photographers List; http://gary.saretzky.com/photohistory/index.html).
One of a group of photographs in this accession related to the Sanntrock family which lived in Hoboken from the later part of the 19th century until the early 20th century. Consisting of images of first and second generation German immigrants, the group reflects their German heritage and culture in fashions and content (some photographs are from Germany, apparently of relatives.)
