Digital image of group photo of Julius Durstewitz and eight women (family?) on a roof, Hoboken. no date, circa 1938-1940. Original image was ca. 4-1/2" wide x 2-3/4" high. Plus the black-and-white 70 mm nitrate negative of the same size as the print thus the print is possibly a contact print. Photographer not indicated (print made by the People's Studio.) Location is not identified. Reverse is blank except for processor's number: 51.
The women posed with Julius are not identified. The roof is probably part of the Recreation Center (of which Julius was the director) at 113 Jefferson Street which opened in 1938. The upper coursework, molding and pipe railing seem to relate to the building seen in 2005.078.0534. This would make the view looking west.
