Two printed 6-cent block tickets of the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad Co., no date, ca. 1940. 2-1/2" wide x 1-9/16" high. Printed one side in two colors. Reverse unprinted. No validation stamps. Three punched holes which match up on both tickets indicating they were punched at the same time by hand or if machine punched, they were done at the same machine
The ticket price could be refunded if the holder signed the ticket on the signature line provided. The top ticket is signed on the front. The bottom ticket is signed on the reverse including the signer's address.
Serial numbered vertically at the left: 2870 and 2806. Note that the faint security pattern background is the repeated cross-section tunnel view of the head of a train. Printed by Rand McNally & Co., New York.
