Postcard: A Happy New Year 1909. [Artist drawn snow scene of a farm with an eagle holding holly boughs; inserted in photo vignette is a policeman in uniform.] Real photo postcard 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" wide; divided back; postmarked Hoboken, December 28, 1908; Azo block paper.
Addressed to Mrs. [J.] Rabold, 168 7th St., Hoboken. Addressee is the same as on another postcard in this group, objects 2010.056.0001, but they were addressed in two different hands.
The officer in the oval vignette is unidentified. He appears to be about forty years of age with moustache and in dress uniform whether that of the Hoboken Police Department or of some other agency (or business - the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad also had a police force) cannot be determined as the picture does not have the detail.
Creator of the card is not indicated or known except the main image is apparently a stock one from a "W.C. Capuozzo" as marked at lower right in image. It is from eight related real photo postcards in this accession.
