Ink bottle: Columbia Scarlet Indelible Drawing Ink. Keuffel & Esser Co., New York. Clear mold-blown glass bottle, 1-1/2" square x 2" high; overall 2-3/4" high including stopper. (Quantity is not stated, but it is probably two ounces.) Company name and city in raised letters on right side. Printed paper labels on front, back and bottom. Red-brown hard rubber stopper with integral cap; black rubber bulb top fastened to glass eyedropper (chipped point.) A small portion of the original contents remains in dessicated form.
Although stated as New York, it was manufactured at the Hoboken factories of Keuffel and Esser. Bottom label states: Patented June 15, 1888; Oct. 7, 1902.
