View southeast from New Jersey side of the Hudson River of what was the proposed and published design of the George Washington Bridge. As built, the towers were not covered with stone. The bridge opened to passengers on Oct. 25, 1931.
This is not the bridge that designed in the 1890's for connecting New York and Hoboken.
