Cloth bag with triangular flap embroidered with an elk head, initials "W.M.L." and the number "29." (with the period.) No place, no date, circa 1910-1930. Cotton cloth 16-1/2" high x 25" wide forming a pocket across the width; with triangular flap a 1-1/8" crocheted lace trim on all edges which is used to attach to the pocket piece. Stained.
The purpose of this item is unknown as well as its relationship, if any, to the Hoboken Elk's Lodge No. 74. It is possible that this was created for the storage of vestments for an officer with the initials seen or ceremonial table coverings. The needlework is by an unknown woman.
