The former Maxwell House Coffee plant was scheduled for demolition by the real estate developers who planned a residential apartment complex with piers, a beach, etc. This button was issued by concerned citizens who wished to have the original factory buildings retained and rehabilitated into housing. The button was issued to as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the proposed plans and for those attending government meetings related to discussion and consideration (and ultimate) approval of the owners' project. There is no name of an organization who supported this effort on the item.
