Souvenir demitasse cup and saucer with vignette scene titled "Viaduct of the Jersey City Heights and Paterson Electric Railway." No date (ca. 1893-1900).
The scene shows a single railcar on a trestled viaduct with greenery below it and commercial buildings behind and in the distance. The cup is 2"h and 2.25" diameter. Primary color is orchid with white handle, gilt accents. Vignette has black detailing with green, blue-green and brown fields. Saucer is 4-3/8" diameter in white and orchid. diameter. No maker's mark.
Jersey City Heights and Paterson Electric Railway was actually the Jersey City, Hoboken and Paterson Electric Railway, found in 1893 and leased from 1894-1899 to the New Jersey Electric Railway Company.
