U.S. Navy Officer of the Deck Spyglass. Made by Keuffel & Esser Co., N.Y. No date, circa 1920-1920. Single draw telescope, 16-3/4" long closed, 22-1/4" open; 1-5/8" diameter. Brass metal tubes with black leather (goatskin?) wrapping on main tube. Black paint on exposed metal, worn off at circumference and where held on draw tube. Machine lettered on draw tube as titled above along with "Power 12-1/2 ." Also hand marked below machine lettering "N. 3517" (unknown if a serial number applied by K&E or one assigned by the Navy.)
Although marked N.Y., K+E factory was in Hoboken during the period of when it was made. To be researched for more precise date of issue.
