Ticket: Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad round-trip coach ticket, Vestal to Hoboken, N.J., issued Hoboken, August 24, 1945. Ticket number 1847. Printed ticket (Associated Ticket Paper), 2-5/8" wide x 8-1/4" high; punched; holographic ink entry of departure station; ink stamped limit (Limit 3 MOS.) and endorsement stamps on back by Hoboken terminal ticket agent with date. Apparently unused for rail travel.
Ticket issued to an active duty member of the military for furlough travel (it is worthwhile to note that World War Two had recently ended) as indicated by the punch for 'Furlough' category which was one of 7 ticket categories. See notes.
The ticket was in two parts with a perforation line for separation: Return Coupon (top portion); Going Coupon (bottom portion). Top perforation where removed from a ticket book (note stamp mark over this point on the reverse.)
