Rusted metal sign "Pier C" from the 4th street gatehouse of the Hoboken Piers. Made of 3/16" thick iron plate, 36" square. Formerly white roman lettering, now blurred, with 'Pier' in 7"h letters centered above a 17"h 'C.' The words "park" are hand-lettered vertically at the left & right in a faded paint. There are 12 perimeter screw holes.
The pier was used for parking for many years prior to the demolition of the buildings ca. 1999.
